The photo for this piece was taken from a passenger window of the Amtrak train that carried me from my home in Kansas City to my daughter's home in Milwaukee. I wanted to add it here for it is going to be on exhibit next Monday as part of our ARTS group show. It is one of my favorites because so much is visible: the maroon velvet curtains, the red letters at the top of the glass window detailing steps to take in case of an emergency, the bleak un-leaved trees, the ice covered December stream and the snow streaked fields of southern Illinois. The text of my experience is written in layers over the photographed image and take on the appearance of snow covering all that the photo sees. Train to Milwaukee will hang for the month of June in Kansas City's, Unity Temple on the Plaza and I am very excited.
